After going through 4 or 5 different pairs in the last year, life got considerably better as I attained 'man of the hour' status for finding these gloves for my wife. They fit, they protect from thorns and other pokey, prickly, nasty things, and they stay cool. That counts for a lot here in Las Vegas! The large number of very positive reviews are well deserved as she raved about how clever I was for finding these for her. Well............one does what one can........and I felt more or less obligated to make 'hero' status available to those who seek it for the paltry sum that it takes to make these gloves a part of your happy home. Put the remote down and go order these and let joy be unrestrained!
Compared to my old pair, I love these gloves, they are very comfortable. I have medium size hands and they fit perfectly with a little extra room to move my hands around. It is mostly breathable, very little sweat on my hands after hours of heavy use. I like the anti-slip surface on the palm side and makes it good for gardening, trimming branches, whacking weeds, taking out trash, just about anything. It is also durable. So far, I'm still on my first pair and it's still holding up well after numerous uses. I really wasn't expecting much from it considering what I pay for 6 pairs but am very surprised with the quality of these gloves. Will buy again once I go thru all six pairs. The only con I find so far is that it doesn't withstand thorns so be careful when picking weeds with thorns. I got poked a few times.
I am a gardener, and work outside a lot! I have tried so many different types of gloves. I wasn't sure about these just because of the fact I have used the 'breathable rubber coated' gloves before and my hands were sweaty, and made blisters. I've used these for about a week now, and they are pretty good. Yes on hot days my hands get a little moist (sorry I know people hate that word), but overall not bad. I've worked with thorny brush, and in the dirt - hands are clean and the thorns really have to be pretty large to penetrate completely. Overall - I like them.
This is my 4th set of these; I love them because I can easily weed with them. Many garden gloves are so bulky you can't get a grip on the small weeds in the garden. Along with the excellent grip, they protect me from sprays and mud. Although it would appear by the number I buy that they do not last--that is not the case--I still have and use every pair. The reason I buy so many is that I'll forget they are on and spray herbicide. After that, I can no longer plant flowers with them.
I wasn't expecting a whole lot getting 6 pairs for such a little amount. So far they are great. I especially like the elastic waist that fits so well. Someone complained that they didn't come clean when laundered. I wouldn't let that fact keep you from buying them. After all, they are gardening gloves and are meant to get dirty. I have only used one pair so far so I can't really comment on durability. I am adding on to this review about a month later. One of the best purchases I have made. My first pair are holding up fine and I garden almost every day. Found another use - they are great for unscrewing tight lids and bottle tops
When it comes to doing many of the chores that I tackle outside, I like to wear a pair of gloves to keep my hands protected from whatever task I am performing. I have often used cotton jersey gloves in the past, but none of them ever seemed to work very well. They were usually too big and slid around, or my hands seemed to be really hot inside them and get very sweaty. After looking over the choices on Amazon, I decided to get the six-pack of COOLJOB Gardening Gloves for women, and I quickly discovered that I had made a great decision. From the first time worn, these gloves have made my outdoor activities so much easier. I can now grip my yard equipment without any slipping because of the rubber coating on the palm, and this is very important when holding trimmers which could cause an injury. Also, my hands stay totally dry, even after several hours of working. I really like being able to get my gloves off effortlessly when finished outside, not having them stick to my hands because of being damp inside. When raking or using a hoe, I never get any blisters either, as this still happened when using the previous gloves. The fitted cuff really helps a lot, too, as it not only keeps out dirt but prevents the gloves from moving around. The first pair has held up well after weeks of use, only just a little dirty but no noticeable wearing.
Love the gloves. I’ve tried others from HD and Lowe’s but regardless of gender they were always too big. These gloves however are a perfect fit and they do not tear or get soggy when wet. When trimming and having to pick up in tight spaces these gloves protect the hand and leave nothing behind. Highly recommend. Love the cute little design in the top of gloves as well.
The question asked about water resistance: as these have the knit fabrics water will soak right in. But I find them very well suited for my level of gardening - a few hours at most - a day. I will dig in the soil with my hands, grasp branches for trimming, etc. I use them in the garage for rummaging around, just as protection from odd pointy things, as they are much better than bare hands. I buy black gloves for my husband, and he chooses these, much to my dismay, as he has larger hands and also leaves them outside. They Will Dry Out and become uncomfortable if left in the sun outside for a few days, but all gloves like this do that
I garden all summer so I need gloves that are durable, comfortable and gloves that are priced reasonably. This past summer, I purchased about 20 pairs of gloves at local stores. They were cheap but didn't last. These gloves are much thicker and hopefully will last the season.
These are excellent garden gloves and have become the gloves I reach for again and again. I spend a lot of time in my garden and have many kinds of gloves. I have the cheap thick cowhide style gloves for shoveling, I have long gauntlet style gloves for pruning roses and bougainvillea, and I’ve used basic canvas gloves for everything else. I bought these specifically for working with succulents, hoping they would give me added dexterity over canvas gloves. They do. But they are so much better than I expected. The waterproof palms are so much better than a standard glove. With the usual glove, when they dry after being wet, they get really stiff and uncomfortable, not these. They dry to exactly as they were before. I live in California, where summer is in the triple digits. These are so much cooler than the usual glove, it barely feels like I’m wearing anything on my hands. I sometimes forgo wearing gloves because it’s so hot outside, now I don’t have to. The rubbery palms are just right, they give a little grip but don’t stick to delicate succulent leaves etc. like silicon grips would. One caveat, the palms are not thick enough for pruning roses, pomegranate trees or bougainvilleas, the thorns will go thru the rubbery palms if held tightly. They are clearly not meant for that. However, I chose to wear them anyway because they are that much cooler and more comfortable than any other glove. I’m just really careful with thorns. Oh, one last thing. I bought a 5 pack of similar gloves from Lowe’s, locally, they were blue. When I took them off after gardening all morning, they had dyed my hands! These do not transfer color onto my hands, not even when wet, and they are cheaper than the pack I bought at Lowe’s. I would highly recommend these gloves and I’ll be buying more again.
The size concerned me, so thought I would share something that may help... For a woman, my hands are large. My hand measures 8" circumference – around the top and across the palm, the span from thumb-tip to pinkie-tip is 8.25", and from wrist to middle finger tip is 7.25". These gloves fit appropriately snug, with plenty of stretch. They are perfect for gardening, and machine wash nicely. I allow them to air dry. Great value for the price!
I'm in the garden 4-6 hours every day. I go through a lot of garden gloves! These are among the best I have found at an excellent price. They have survived many washings. ( don't put in the dryer). These are well worth the money, the fit is good and they have survived frequent washings
I wear these gloves for light gardening such as pulling weeds or potting plants. I usually do not like wearing gardening gloves because they are bulky and porous, with the dirt either entering through the cloth material or though a tiny tear in rubber gloves. I love wearing and using these gloves, however. The fit is good so that my fingers can move easily to the base of a bush, for example, to pull out weeds or old growth. After a long session of weeding, my hands are still clean. Thus far, I am very pleased and so can highly recommend these gloves for light gardening such as I have described above.
I wasn't sure if I was going to like these garden gloves at first. The wind really blew threw them and I was skeptical. However after having used them an entire summer and fall I give them 4 stars. Really really comfortable and the non-slip material on the inside of the fingers and hands made it easy to grip tools and plant stems. Not so bulky that I couldn't feel what I was holding or damaged plants. The top are a little easy to poke holes in or snag but for the number of gloves in the pack and the price, these are a winner.
The rubbery fingers on these gloves make weeding possible! Other gloves make it hard to grip the smaller weeds and yank them out of the ground. With these gloves, you maintain your normal dexterity and the weed doesn't slip out of your grip. The back of the glove is mesh fabric, so your hands don't get overly hot wearing them for long periods. I didn't rate water resistance because of the mesh fabric - the water WILL get in. I also didn't rate durability since I've just gotten them recently. The fit is great, and I've worn my first pair for hours at a stretch without any discomfort. HIGHLY recommend an everyday garden glove!!
Just received them a week ago so I’ve used just once so far, while cutting a heavy, thorny vine and they held up perfectly through the day. Comfortable to wear and very “grippy”! The colors are beautiful and vibrant making it virtually impossible to lose them in piles of brush and leaves or while stored in garage. Would definitely buy again, but I think these will last a long time.
I wasn't expecting much from these gloves given the low price, but they have actually been great. I do an awful lot of gardening, both at my home and also with a local club, so I have given these gloves a workout in the 6 weeks since I bought them. First, I'm a woman but I have large hands, so a lot of gloves don't fit me, but I bought these in the medium size and they are very comfortable. The rubber coating gives a good grip when you're holding a tool or trying to pull out a stubborn weed. It's thick enough to give your fingers some protection but not so stiff that you can't make a fist easily. Most importantly, I have put 2 pairs of these gloves through the washing machine several times, and they wash up just fine. I always put them in a lingerie bag before washing them, and I never put them in the dryer. The gloves didn't shrink in a warm water wash, and they came out nice and clean and fresh.
Garden gloves don’t last long for me. I have very long 3rd and 4th fingers and no matter what I buy, the tips of these fingers develop holes. So I shop for these in bulk with comfort and affordability being my primary criteria. These are awesome in this regard and it seems like the finger tips are hanging in reasonably well. They are durable with some pretty heavy work (shovels, trowels, etc.) and water resistant. Even when they get wet, the fabric dries quickly in the sun. And they wash well!
I am ROUGH on gardening gloves. I do 5 - 8 hours of gardening/yardwork weekly, from compost bins to laying down much to moving rocks to 100+ plant veggie garden to tending my normal flower gardens. My gloves take a beating and are usually soaking wet from sweat when I'm done. Now I just lay 1 pair to the side and pick up a dry pair. I'll wash them regularly (because 'Ew') and air dry, but I'm so glad I found gloves that fit my hands so well and the price cannot be beat. I hope they last, but if not, the price is very reasonable.
They are just the best gardening gloves. I have had them for a couple months of hard use, and I haven't even worn through my first pair of the six! They fit snugly, but don't impede dexterity, or cause your hands to get hot and sweaty. The textured rubber coating on the finger-tips and palms helps grip weeds, and even allow a bit of digging. Very satisfied, and at an incredible price! Have some very expensive gloves that are bulky and awkward in comparison. I always reach for these, now, instead.
